Continuing Education

Continuing Education Credits

Continuing Education for social workers, licensed sex offender evaluators, or licensed sex offender treatment providers is coordinated and sponsored by the Illinois Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.


Conference goals and objectives

The goal of the ILATSA Conference is to advance the knowledge and skills of professionals providing services in the field of sexual abuse.

With interdisciplinary approaches, the sessions will present current and relevant research and explore the implications for its use in clinical intervention, proactive intervention techniques and the implementation of solutions to advance the scope of sexual abuse treatment, management and prevention.

2026 ILATSA Conference

Psychologists 

The Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer 12 Continuing Education Credits for psychologists for this conference. 

 

Probation Officers

ILATSA has been approved to offer training for Probation Officers by the Committee on Probation Education (COPE). 

Social Workers and Counselors

Application for a maximum of 12 credits is also being made to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).  If approved, attendance at conference Seminars earn 6 CE credits for a full-day session on Thursday, and 6 CE credits for a full day session on Friday. The Sex Offender Management Board is an approved Continuing Education Provider for social workers.  Per statute, counselors can receive CEU credit for trainings approved by NASW. 

Illinois Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Providers (LSOTP) and Licensed Sex Offender Evaluators (LSOE)

ILATSA has been approved as an Approved Continuing Education Provider by the Illinois Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) for 12 CEUs for the Illinois LSOTP and LSOTE licenses.
